The Swiss have backed an initiative by environmentalists to limit the construction of holiday homes. The initiative was carried by a small margin.
In other votes on Sunday 11th, a proposal to increase statutory holiday entitlement was rejected.
At present there are no details of how this will affect individual Communes and Cantons and there has been widespread call to urgently clarify the details of the new law.
