At 1800m altitude, Les Collons is one of the highest and most snow sure ski resorts in Switzerland. Located in the beautiful Coeur Du Valais region, the village is connected by ski lift directly into the largest and best ski domain in Switzerland, the Four Valleys. With over 400km of piste and in excess of 90 lifts, the Four Valleys offers something for every level of skiing ability. From December to April, you are guaranteed to be able to ski down into the village. Winter walkers will find several kilometres of cleared winter footpaths as well as routes for snow-shoe walking and dog-sledge rides.
The ski domain is very well interlinked and it is easily possible to ski from Les Collons to Verbier and Nendaz.
The village of Les Collons is situated on a sunny plateau, part of a trio of linked villages in this area. The middle village, Les Collons, idyllically nestles amongst pine and larch forest with stunning views both towards the Matterhorn and Dent Blanche and below into the valley.
The centre of Les Collons is made up of many amenities including bars, restaurants and shops, the ski lift station is also located on the main village road. A swimming pool, crèche and other amenities can be found in nearby Thyon that can be accessed by the free ski bus.
While the region of Les Collons is most popular in the winter season, summer guests also enjoy the fresh alpine air, the peace and quiet in summer, the vast hiking area and the exciting mountain bike routes. Two descents begin at the top station of the Etherolla chair lift, connecting up in Thyon 2000 with a third which takes bikers from Thyon to Les Collons.
Like in many places in the Valais, here too you can walk with no great differences in altitude along the "Suonen", the irrigation channels that were built hundreds of years ago. For a change, you can also try riding, keep-fit, climbing, bowling, paragliding or hang-gliding. The Rhone valley with the Sierre/Salgesch wine-growing region is within easy reach for excursions.
The wide range of activites in this area makes Les Collons a particularly family-friendly resort.
